Profile of the Company

Czech Airlines’ main line of business is scheduled air passenger carriage. Czech Airlines is the flagship carrier of the Czech Republic, which has been in operation since October 1923, making it one of the five oldest airlines in the world. Czech Airlines is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Association of European Airlines (AEA), and the SkyTeam alliance. As of September 2012, the airline is a member of the Czech Aeroholding group.  Czech Airlines holds an ISO 14001 certificate for its environmental management system, and is the only airline based in the Czech Republic to hold a certificate of compliance with the IOSA requirements (IATA Operational Safety Audit) – the most advanced safety standards in air carriage.

Scheduled Air Carriage

Czech Airlines provides connections from Prague to most European metropolises, and to major destinations in the Near and Middle East, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Because Czech Airlines only operates to major airports in each country to which it flies, its passengers are able to quickly reach their destination in comfort and safety.
The airline is a member of the SkyTeam alliance, an international network of eighteen associated airlines. Thanks to its membership in the alliance and to code-share cooperation with other partner airlines, Czech Airlines is able to offer its customers a broad selection of destinations, greater frequency, and connecting flights to anywhere in the world.

Cargo and Post Carriage

In addition to scheduled passenger carriage, Czech Airlines also provides the carriage of air cargo and post through its Cargo unit. To this end, it primarily makes use of the cargo capacity of Czech Airlines aircraft, but also that of its sister company, the charter carrier HOLIDAYS Czech Airlines, and special cargo flights, both one-time and scheduled. Czech Airlines Cargo is a member of the SkyTeam Cargo alliance, thanks to which it is the sales representative of its alliance partners Korean Air Cargo and Delta Cargo, acting as the general sales agent for the Czech Republic.

Ground Services

The handling of aircraft, passengers and baggage, ticketing, and other specialised services at Prague Airport are provided to Czech Airlines on a contractual basis by one of its sister companies within the Czech Aeroholding Group, Czech Airlines Handling.

Aircraft Maintenance

Czech Airlines pays extraordinary attention to technical aircraft maintenance. Regular certified service and maintenance of Czech Airlines’ aircraft is provided on a turnkey basis by the sister company Czech Airlines Technics, a member of the Czech Aeroholding Group.

Crew Training

Czech Airlines also benefits from the extensive experience in aircrew training that it has acquired over many years. At the Czech Airlines Training Centre, operated by the state-owned enterprise Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic, the airline provides training to future aircrew members, as well as refresher and further training to existing crews. In addition to Czech Airlines and HOLIDAYS Czech Airlines, the services of the training centre are also used by foreign airlines. Furthermore, the popular courses “Flying without Fear” and “Stewardess/Steward Try-outs”, as well as the adventure course “Flying for Fun”, which are open to the public, are also organised there.
